Over the past few months Action Renewables has been engaging with stakeholders on the proposed Energy Strategy for NI. The strategy is extensive and as such required a significant amount of research and input to identify key issues, on which we seek to respond. This has been an extremely productive process, providing insight and feedback from various sectors, enabling collaborative working to bring about an informed response to the Energy Strategy.
Since the inception of the 2010 – 10 year energy strategy, many strides forward in renewable energy and renewable technologies have been developed, creating steadfast foundations for future innovations. This new strategy will build upon those developments, to ensure that Northern Ireland is in a prime position to achieve the target of net zero emissions by 2050. It has outlined ambitions surrounding the hydrogen economy, indigenous renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
Action Renewables would encourage you to take part and respond to this consultation. All responses to this consultation should be submitted by 17:00pm on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
