Action Renewables have partnered with Phoenix Energy to deliver a new Carbon Reduction Grant in Northern Ireland. The grant is available to households that switch from oil/solid fuel to natural gas.
Launched at the La Mon House Hotel on 10th January and hosted by Phoenix Energy, over 150 gas installers were invited along to find out more from the team at Phoenix, along with Action Renewables CEO, Terry Waugh, and Snr Project Manager, Lana Moore.
The grant is in the form of £400 cashback once your installation is complete.
This applies to households with a total income below £65000 per annum. This figure includes all household income – salaries, benefits, pensions etc.
Action Renewables is undertaking the assessment of income eligibility on behalf of Phoenix Energy. It is an extremely streamlined and simple process to apply online, with applicants having the ability to upload documents into their application as proof of income in one go.

Action Renewables CEO, Terry Waugh commented, “We are delighted to be partnering with Phoenix Energy on the new Carbon Reduction Grant which offers customers a helping hand to switch to a less polluting energy source that is actively progressing an exciting decarbonisation journey. The application process is really straightforward, and customers will be supported through the process by their Phoenix Energy Advisor and our own dedicated Carbon Reduction Grant team from Action Renewables.”
Phoenix Energy CEO, Kailash Chada also commented, “With highly efficient natural gas systems emitting up to 50% less carbon than older oil systems, we know that existing natural gas users help avoid more than 700,000 tonnes of carbon from entering the atmosphere annually. The new Carbon Reduction Grant, which is run in conjunction with Action Renewables, is designed to support householders with the conversion to a modern, highly efficient heating system that will further reduce carbon savings further and support NI’s 2030 carbon emissions target.”
