The annual black tie, Energy Institute Northern Ireland (EINI) dinner was held on Thursday 14th March, at the prestigious Culloden Hotel, Cultra, Co.Down.
As sponsors, Action Renewables invited clients and Board members to attend alongside representatives from our Microgeneration, Large scale generation, Consultancy and Business Development teams. Action Renewables Head of Projects, William Deane is a serving Committee Member of the EINI, and ensured a successful night for key personnel within the Energy sector of Northern Ireland.
Mark Welsh (Chairman, EINI) delivered the welcome speech, followed by guest speakers including Johnny Gowdy from Regen, Yewande Abiose from Energy Institute (Head of Strategic Partnerships) and prize winners. Terry Waugh, CEO of Action Renewables presented the McBride Prize.
The evening was held in the Stuart Suite of the Culloden Hotel, with an opportunity to network during the drinks reception.
Guests were treated to a superb local menu of culinary delights, Grants Ham Hock Terrine with Piccalilli Emulsion, Fruit Chutney, Pickled Vegetables, followed by Classic Stuffed Chicken Supreme wrapped in Dry Cured Bacon, Roast Chicken Sauce, to finish a tasty Baked Apple and Cinnamon Crumble with warm custard, served with Tea and Coffee.
Each year a student from Ulster University is nominated for the McBride Prize – this year Jordan Birt won the award with her dissertation entitled “The role of heat pump technology as an opportunity to decarbonise residential heating in Northern Ireland”.
Energy Institute N.I. nominated Action Cancer as their charity on the night, and a fantastic £1800 was raised. Another great evening of networking and industry chat, closing up the evening with the wonderful singer Holly Nadine.
