The team at Action Renewables are delighted to see the installation of Solar PV on the roof of our Headquarters building, located at Boucher Business Studios.

Becoming a signatory to the BITC Climate Action Pledge in September 2022, Action Renewables made an important public commitment to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. Complementing our existing energy reduction and efficiency programmes, we decided to install a 24.6kW Solar Photovoltaic system at our Belfast based office in March 2023.

Working alongside building landlords – Ortus Group, the Solar PV system will make an impact for all the tenants within the building, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reduce electricity bills and power the future installation of EV charging units within the car park area. This is aimed at encouraging staff and visitors to adopt sustainable forms of transport and reducing our Scope 3 emissions in the future.

This system will generate approximately 21,500 kWh of renewable electricity per annum during its projected 25 years lifespan. The renewable energy produced by the system will offset 7.25 tons of carbon emissions per year – more than 182 tons during its expected lifespan. This is the equivalent carbon sequestration of planting over 9,000 trees and is an important step in our transition to a carbon neutral organisation and substantially reducing Scope 2 emissions.
