What is NISEP?

The Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) helps homeowners, communities and businesses across NI to become more energy efficient and reduce their carbon footprint and is administered by the Energy Saving Trust on behalf of the Utility Regulator.

  • The NISEP year runs from April 2026 until March 2027, or until funds have been allocated
  • Existing funds are limited and are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Scheme managers may hold a waiting list for new applicants
  • Properties will receive a building survey to ensure they are suitable for the energy saving measures within your application

For the year ahead, there are 15 active schemes on offer across 9 scheme managers; featuring Phoenix Energy, Evolve, Power NI Energy Ltd, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and more.
